Oppenheimer, Harry (1908- ).
Son of Sir Ernest Oppenheimer and successor, upon his father's death in 1957, to the chairmanship of De Beers Consolidated Mines, Ltd., Anglo-American Corporation, Ltd., and a number of other companies in the De Beers group. He has continued this work with notable success, bringing into the De Beers family, in partnership with the Government of Tanzania, the Williamson diamond Mine and initiated the marketing of Russian Diamonds with Soviet authorities outside the Soviet bloc through the Central Selling Organization. Greater stability has also been achieved for the diamond industry in Sierra Leone. See oppenheimer, SIR ERNEST.
